It all depends on the kind of product or brand it is. For many brands like PEPSI i don't things Spokescharacters will make any significant impact and publicity for the brand the way it did for AMUL remember the the Amul Butter girl. <br><br>Post edited by: ratika, at: 2008/07/12 23:29

Yes, Thats what i feel having spokescharacters are always better for BRANDS as they don't cost you great endorsement money and they are loyal to only your BRAND

The Spokescharacter has the following characteristics :

It is fictional, i.e. It does not have an real existence secondly it may be a real or an animate being (The latter being more popular) Thirdly it is created exclusively for the promotion or selling of a product service or an idea. The last characteristic has become somewhat flexible in the recent past since many companies purchase the rights to use characters developed by others (other than the promoting organization) as their spokescharacter.

But don't you feel a celebrity endorsement is a more effective way to communicating brand across to its customers that using spokescharacters? What i mean is celebrities are often having better recall than any other characters.
